The story tells of escalating tensions among soldiers in the US military one month after the murder of Martin Luther King Jr. There seem to be more ethnic tensions and moral crises and there is overwhelming pressure from fighting in a war no one wants to fight at all. These events may have really begun with André Casper Allen, an ideologue who has found himself in a real row and found that his radical policies put him at odds with Silas Mix, which may make things even more complicated.
